Now let us turn to the Conversion Process. A useful image of the conversion process is found in a song entitled, “The Windmills of Your Mind.1 ” The opening line goes like this:
“Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel”
Continual conversion, at it's best, is a repeated upward spiral. With the completion of each cycle, we start again in a slightly different place, but with a greater sense of enlightenment, a greater desire for holiness, and a redefinition and reformation of our identities as Christians and as disciples. This cycle, this spiral, contrary to being a state of uncontrolled change and continuous confusion, is actually a directed and organized path to growth.
